Job Title: Financial Reporting Vice President
Job Location: Delaware


  • Manage shareholder report production and annual audit process
  • Review of shareholder reports including financial statements and notes to financial statements
  • Manage regulatory reporting on Form N-CSR, Form N-SAR, Form N-MFP and Form N-Q
  • Oversee third party fund administration and fund accounting vendors
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders including fund administrators and fund accounting agents, independent accountants, marketing, investment operations, portfolio managers and in-house and external legal counsel
  • Supervise team of up to five professionals of various levels
  • Prepare quarterly board reports related to financial reporting, regulatory filing, and audit matters
  • Document and communicate accounting policies for mutual funds and participate in accounting policy database process whereby accounting policies are formalized
  • Analyze and communicate new and existing accounting standards, technical literature and mutual fund industry best practices to determine accounting treatment and accounting policy

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Possess seven to ten years combined experience in public accounting, mutual fund administration or mutual fund accounting experience, preferably within a mutual fund financial reporting group
  • Knowledge of technical and regulatory issues affecting the mutual fund industry, including generally accepted accounting principles, the Investment Company Act of 1940 and Regulation S-X
  • Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Takes ownership for outcomes and is personally accountable for results
  • Analyze relevant information using logic and consider relevant facts to make rational, realistic, and sound decisions
  • Produces accurate work and spots mistakes/errors and makes appropriate corrections
  • Understands common business and financial terminology including how organizations operate, compete, and grow
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills including ability to clearly articulate results of financial analyses as wells as issues to senior management and the auditors
  • Self-motivated, determined to achieve goals and works hard to meet those goals
  • Works effectively to plan and prioritize responsibilities including ongoing and ad hoc projects simultaneously
  • Develops practical and pragmatic solutions to problems
  • Effectively plans, implements and develops a methodical approach to projects
  • Builds working partnerships and sustains collaboration in the workplace
  • Promotes and facilitates the group’s work while contributing to the group using inspiration and motivation
  • Generates fresh ideas using structured thinking by reevaluating existing approaches and processes
  • Proactively acts upon opportunities and is a self-starter

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree and/or CPA are preferable
