Job Title: Senior General Ledger Accountant
Job Location: Florida

Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly closing procedures in moderate to subjective and high risk areas to produce financial statements in a timely manner
  • Prepare account analysis and general ledger account reconciliations for the most critical and subjective accounting areas of the company
  • Gather necessary supporting documentation to enter journal entries into the general ledger accounting system and produce monthly financial statements
  • Responsible for the preparation and posting of all journal entries, analysis, and reconciliation related to specifically assigned general ledger accounts
  • Create, maintain and use sophisticated, organized spreadsheets, to calculate related journal entries or perform analysis
  • Post entries related to assigned general ledger accounts
  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements related to assigned areas, including subjective accounting areas that require strong analytical skills as a basis for reconciling differences and resolving issues
  • Reconcile and analyze critical and subjective accounting areas as assigned
  • Work directly with Accounting Manager, Assistant Corporate Controller, and Controller on a regular basis to address accounting issues with critical accounts
  • Mentor and provide direction to GL Accountants at all levels
  • Take an ownership and leadership role in assigned tasks and projects
  • Assist the Accounting Manager and Assistant Corporate Controller as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting
  • Experience working for Big 4 Accounting Firm
  • Eight+ years of general ledger accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use V-lookups and pivot tables
  • Experience in the use of accounting software
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of accounting concepts
  • Ability to accomplish difficult tasks with minimal oversight and maintain a consistent level of accuracy in all assigned areas
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to present solutions to difficult accounting problems
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and follow-up skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Master of Business Administration, and/or CPA license
  • Experience in Lawson accounting software
